7/21/2011: Dr. Michael Notaro has been named the Associate Director of the Center for Climatic Research. Michael is an associate scientist in CCR and has been with the center since 2002. His core research areas include vegetation-climate interactions, regional and global climate modeling, and the impacts of climate change in Wisconsin and globally. Michael has a strong tradition of service to CCR and the State of Wisconsin, particularly under the Wisconsin Initiative on Climate Change Impacts to plan state-level adaptation to projected climate change.

6/25/2011: Incoming CCR Director Jack Williams recently completed a weeklong training course at the Aldo Leopold Leadership Program.

4/27/2011: AOS Professor Galen McKinley has been selected to receive this year's Class of 1955 Distinguished Teaching Award. The award will be bestowed at a ceremony on April 27.

2/08/2011: At the Wisconsin Initiative on Climate Change Impacts (WICCI) Summit on February 8, 2011, the release of the first WICCI report, "Wisconsin's Changing Climate: Impacts and Adaptation," was announced. The report may be accessed at WICCI Publications. Chapter 1 of the report summarizes the findings of the Climate Working Group, including CCR researchers.

1/22/2011: A new video, "How is Wisconsin's Climate Changing?" was produced through WICCI and the Nelson Institute and can be watched at http://www.wicci.wisc.edu/climate-change.php. Climate Wisconsin has produced a series of videos and interactive pages on climate change, available at http://climatewisconsin.org. These videos are based on projections from the Climate Working Group of WICCI.
