David Lorenz
PhD, Assistant Scientist
David Lorenz got his Ph.D. at the University of Washington under Prof. Dennis Hartmann studying the dynamics of the large-scale atmospheric circulation in the extra-tropics. He currently works on predicting and understanding climate change with particular emphasis on 1) precipitation, evaporation and the hydrologic cycle, 2) large-scale jets and storm tracks in the mid-latitudes, and 3) downscaling precipitation, temperature and other climate variables for Wisconsin.
